EJ Hwang is a Korean contemporary jazz pianist, composer, and educator, who has performed at a great variety of venues with her groups and as a sideman. Such venues include Dizzy’s Club in Lincoln Center, Andy’s, Monk’s Fish, Danilo’s jazz club, Jazz showcase, etc., in Boston, Chicago, New York, Panama and Korea. Her recent project titled Narsha was crafted by combining sophisticated harmonies with Nong-ak (traditional Korean community band music), alongside Western harmonies and contemporary rhythms to express Multiculturalism of the world.
The EJ Hwang trio represents the accumulation of Hwang’s journeys into modern jazz, Korean traditional music, jazz-classical crossover, and Latin jazz.
